Sharon Dwyer

"I was raised in Bay Area and Lake Tahoe region.  Being a self taught artist, the beauty and stimulation of California  served as my school.  Nature's kaleidoscope of colors with her light infused patterns is my primary inspiration. I also find it exciting to capture the story that people tell with a look or body attitude.

The mood or statement I want to portray has greater impact depending the the media used. For this reason, I enjoy working in oil, pastel, colored pencil, collage and mixed media.

The majority of my work is in a representational style, except for mixed media works where I am concentrating on color or design. What I choose to paint is either beautiful or inspirational, as it exists in that moment of time. I want the viewer of my work to share my response as if he or she were by my side."
